Recoleta is a very nice neighborhood to rent an apartment. Palermo is also home to an enormous amount of green and open spaces (the most inside the capital) -- the parks on Libertador, the Buenos Aires Botanical Garden, the Buenos Aires Zoo, etc. You'll also find the race track, polo fields, and La Rural (an outdoors exhibition and convention area). I rented an apartment in Palermo, Buenos Aires and had a great time!
